GCA BOARD OF DIRECTORS
About the GCA Board
The GCA Board of Directors (BoD or Board) is empowered to run all the operations of the Association on behalf of its members, within the constraints defined in the Covenants and Restrictions. Starting in 2018, Associa Community Group became our management company, which now handles accounting, including invoices and dues collections, coordination of property modifications, common area maintenance, as well as providing a community manager as a point of contact. Some functions are still supported by paid part-time volunteer staff.
The GCA Board of Directors is elected annually by the members in accordance with the Articles of Incorporation and Covenants and Restrictions of Glenmore. One director is appointed by the owner of the Glenmore Country Club. The remaining six directors are elected "at large" by the annual meeting of the Association, held in February each year. Each director is elected for a two-year term.
GCA Board Meetings-- Resuming with Online Meetings
The GCA Board of Directors meets on the third Thursday of every month at 7:00 p.m. With recent Commonwealth of Virginia legislative approval, these meetings will be held using online meeting tools and capabilities. These meetings are required by the Virginia Property Owners' Act to be open and all residents are welcome to attend. There will be opportunity to address the Board on any topic you wish, whether or not the topic is on the agenda. Residents who wish to attend and speak at these online sessions should contact our Associa Manager, Tim Durrer at either of two email addresses: GCA@glenmore-community.org or email@example.com.
On the first Thursday of every month the GCA Board of Directors conducts a work session at 5:00 p.m. These sessions, likewise, will be held using online meeting tools and capabilities until further notice. These work sessions are intended for the Board to prepare for the upcoming Board meeting and to hear informational reports from GCA committees and others. As required by law, GCA members may attend these work sessions but there will be no opportunity to address the Board. Again, residents wishing to attend should contact Tim Durrer for meeting details and links to the online meeting.

Resolutions considered by the GCA board are included within the Board Minutes (see above). By law, such resolutions must not be in contradiction to the Covenants & Restrictions. However, certain resolutions approved by the board can impact our members and, so, it is customary for homeowners associations to publish a "Book of Resolutions" which separately lists all such resolutions.
