Glenmore's gatehouse is staffed is staffed 24x7 by professional and certified security guards provided by Securitas, a nationally recognized security contractor. The GCA Security and Security Committee provides oversight and sets policy regarding access to our community,

The gatehouse and its officers are crucial to maintaining security within Glenmore. With over 1,000 vehicles passing through daily—nearly one every thirty seconds—your cooperation, respect, and adherence to procedures are essential for effective security. Ensuring that all visitors are properly registered is key to maintaining efficient traffic flow.

License Plate Recognition System
Our security cameras accurately read residents' license plates 99.5% of the time. However, occasional malfunctions or misreads may occur, causing brief delays while gatehouse personnel manually verify addresses or license plates. Please be patient during such instances as this manual verification by the officer is critical for maintaining security.

Respect and Cooperation
Recently, there have been instances where gatehouse officers have faced verbal abuse, including profanity, from residents when the gate did not open immediately or when officers needed to call a resident because a visitor is not registered. Such mistreatment is unacceptable and undermines the officers' commitment to community safety.

Responsibilities

Security Monitoring: Officers oversee all vehicles and pedestrians entering the community at the main entrance to ensure they are authorized and pose no security threat.

Incident Reporting: When Officers observe any suspicious activity they are required to report it to the Albemarle County Police Department.

Guest and Visitor Management: Entry is permitted only for authorized guests or visitor. If a visitor is not pre-registered, the officer will have to contact the resident for confirmation. Please use the TEKControl app to notify the gatehouse in advance of any guests, visitors, contractors, or major deliveries, not on the permanent list via TEKControl app, email or phone to avoid delays and ensure smooth entry.

2. Limitations

Law Enforcement Authority: Gatehouse officers are not police officers, are unarmed, and cannot arrest or detain individuals. For such situations, residents should contact the Albemarle County police directly.

Perimeter Bound: Officers cannot leave the gatehouse area to monitor activities throughout the community
